How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:
This position leads and manages customer experience programs and projects for Metro Transit overseeing all phases from initiation to closure which includes establishing procedures developing budgets and serving as a key management resource. The Senior Program Coordinator coordinates internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success and manages multiple initiatives requiring crossunit collaboration.
This position is eligible for a hybrid (both remote and onsite) telework arrangement. Candidates permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

- Develop and Manage the Portfolio of Customer Experience Projects and Programs. Examples include AdoptAStop Great Day In Transit and Champion Facilities.
- Support Development of Community Affairs Annual Work Plan including the implementation of Phase 2 CRM for Outreach & Engagement.
- Work with Manager to Identify Priorities Resources and Budget for Projects and Programs focusing on the customer experience and program administration.
- Communicate project or program goals timelines deliverables and status to broader audience at Metro Transit Metropolitan Council and to impacted stakeholders.
- Develop strategies for projects or programs that need continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers and internal stakeholders across all Metro Transit and Met Council divisions to identify how assigned projects or programs impact others across Metro Transit and leverage work of other divisions.
- Develop standard program and project management templates and documentation to ensure Community Affairs project work conforms to internal and external project management best practices.
- Analyze customer data to inform business decisions.
- Vendor and contract management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)
Any of the following combinations of experience (in managing multiple programs and projects while demonstrating sound knowledge of project management tools and techniques) and completed education (degree field of study in Communications Public Relations Urban Studies or closely related field):
- High school diploma/GED with eight (8) years of experience
- Associate degree with six (6) years of experience
- Bachelors degree or higher with four (4) years of experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or comparable certification(s): completion of Project Management training(s).
- Experience using public transportation and transit information tools.
- Proven ability to prioritize execute and delegate project tasks.
- Experience mentoring and training around project management methodologies and principles.
- Proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Experience contributing to an equitable positive and respectful work environment that values cultural diversity among all employees.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies & tools.
- Knowledge of change management tools and processes.
- Skilled in effective written and oral communication.
- Skilled in word processing spreadsheets database management.
- Skilled in presentation development and delivery.
- Skilled in dealing with internally and externally partners to influence instruct and negotiate with individuals to gain their understanding cooperation and action.
- Skilled in facilitation and collaborative decision making.
- Ability to effectively lead project teams communicate priorities and evaluate performance.
- Ability to Build consensus and motivate people from diverse backgrounds to contribute to projects.
- Ability to use data to inform project scope goals and deliverables.
- Ability to work independently make decisions multitask prioritize problem solve and resolve issues.
- Ability to influence senior leaders.

What your work environment would be:
You would perform your work in a standard office setting. Work may sometimes require travel between your primary work site and other sites.
What steps the recruitment process involves:- We review your minimum qualifications.
- We complete a Work Record Evaluation (WRE) for ATU internals only.
- We rate your education and experience.
- We conduct a structured panel interview.
- We conduct a selection interview.

If you are new to the Metropolitan Council you must pass a drug test (safetysensitive positions only) and a background check which verifies education employment and criminal history. A driving record check and/or physical may be conducted if applicable to the job. If you have a criminal conviction you do not automatically fail. The Metropolitan Council considers felony gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor convictions on a casebycase basis based on whether they are related to the job and whether the candidate has demonstrated adequate rehabilitation.
If you are already an employee of the Metropolitan Council you must pass a drug test (if moving from a nonsafety sensitive position to a safetysensitive position) and criminal background checks if the job youre applying for is safetysensitive is a supervisory or management job is in the Finance Information Services Audit or Human Resources departments or has access to financial records files/databases cash vouchers or transit fare cards.
