Job Description
The University of Nevada Reno (UNR) is seeking a Student Worker Program Coordinator for Nevada Money Mentors the universitys financial wellness program housed within the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. This role is classified as a Student Worker I position. This is an inperson position.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Coordination:
Help lead biweekly team meetings and assist the Program Manager in coordinating intern schedules responsibilities and deliverables.
Supervise and train interns in tabling activities event preparation and social media content creation.
Approve social media and marketing materials generated by interns ensuring alignment with Nevada Money Mentors standards and guidelines.
Event Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with the Program Manager to plan and implement Financial Wellness Week and other major events.
Teach interns how to manage event logistics including booking facilities budgeting and coordinating event flow and checkins.
Design and implement teambuilding activities and programspecific outings to foster collaboration and engagement.
Administrative Support and Program Development:
Maintain and update content and event calendars shared across the team.
Manage and update programrelated documents including guidelines protocols and progress tracking forms.
Support administrative tasks related to the PIGP internship program including scheduling evaluations and tracking goals.
Professional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
Coordinate and attend meetings with campus stakeholders and partners.
Represent Nevada Money Mentors at tabling events such as Nevada Bound and engage with the campus community to promote financial wellness initiatives and overall university strategic goals.
Social Media and Content Management:
Oversee Nevada Money Mentors social media platforms including Instagram and TikTok ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
Collaborate with interns to create engaging social media schemes campaigns and content.
Track and report metrics for social media and events to demonstrate impact and growth.
Professional Development:
Participate in weekly checkins with the Program Manager to receive mentorship feedback and professional development opportunities.
Share personal professional growth goals and collaborate with the Program Manager to align these goals with the programs vision.
Required Qualifications
Candidate is enrolled at the University of Nevada Reno
Candidate has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and maintain semester enrollment of at least 6.0 credits
Candidate has a general knowledge of personal finance topics and has an interest in building awareness of the importance of money management
Candidate has effective written and verbal communication skills
Candidate has excellent interpersonal customer service and organization skills
Candidate has proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Access Excel PowerPoint and email)
Candidate is a selfstarter who demonstrates attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Candidate has an ability to work independently and in team settings carrying out assignment to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines and standard accepted practices
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with social media management and content creation.
Graphic design skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
Leadership experience in student organizations team projects or work environments.
Availability to work a minimum of 1520 hours per week.
Schedule
Expected hours to work per week: Up to 20 hours scheduling around academic commitments.
