Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior Manager P&C Business Intelligence and Reporting to harness the full potential of our people data systems and technology. In this role youll lead the vision for people analytics manage a highperforming team and use datadriven insights to shape strategic decisions that benefit TeamUHN and drive business value.
This role will play a critical role in fostering datadriven decisionmaking within the human resources function and will lead the planning implementation and continuous management of HR data capabilities to ensure the achievement of strategic goals and objectives. This role will also oversee the development and implementation of a data governance framework within People and Culture ensuring compliance with industry standards regulatory requirements and UHN Data and Analytics practices. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing a roadmap for enhancing and standardizing HR analytics capabilities from data extraction to advanced workforce planning.
The Senior Manager P&C Business Intelligence and Reporting will be joining UHN at a pivotal time as in the fall of 2025 we are embarking on an implementation of a new Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and UHNs first Workforce Management System. The Senior Manager will contribute to the design and implementation of both systems while managing reporting requests in legacy systems.
Duties
- Lead UHNs People Analytics Strategy: Develop and execute the longterm people analytics strategy with a roadmap that supports our evolving business needs. Shape our people systems and data ecosystem integrating advanced analytics into decisionmaking across the organization. Establish and enforce reporting rules and standardization protocols to maintain data integrity accuracy and consistency across all business intelligence and reporting activities.
- Build and Enable a HighPerforming Team: Mentor and lead a team of analysts and advisors that are dedicated to producing actionable insights fostering data literacy integrating and optimizing systems and delivering reporting solutions that support all levels of the organization.
- Create Data Pipelines: Collaborate with the EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse) team to establish data pipelines that facilitate ETL processes for Power BI and other visualization tools.
- Foster DataDriven Decision Making: Develop and manage processes to establish standard operating policies and procedures key performance measures and targets in collaboration with areas of People and Culture and across UHN. Lead the team to create and implement reports data models and dashboards that provide meaningful insights into key HR metrics and trends. Advocate for and drive a datadriven culture within the People & Culture (P&C) team and across UHN. Design strategies and develop tools to enhance data access quality and insight generation.
- Deliver Data and Analytics Solutions: Triage incoming report requests prioritizing based on urgency and strategic priority. Complete mandatory reporting requirements and requests to participate in industry surveys ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external standards. Engage with clients to clarify report specifications and utilize data manipulation skills to fulfill diverse reporting needs. Build and implement reports dashboards and predictive models that inform leadership decisions and monitor the success of people initiatives. Provide advanced analytics capabilities that bring data to life and drive impactful people and business outcomes
- Optimize HR Systems: Oversee reporting and analytics enhancements within our HRIS platform (current and future) to increase efficiency and elevate data analytics. Partner with the HRIS team to inform future enhancements to UHNs HRIS ensuring we optimize value of any technology investments. Partner with other areas of People and Culture to optimize technology process and resources (e.g. recruitment learning scheduling).
- Partner with UHN: Nurture strategic partnerships across UHN understanding business processes key performance indicators and organizational culture. Demonstrate complex problemsolving collaborate with stakeholders to develop innovative strategies for business problems and leverage resources and technology to enhance quality streamline workflows and achieve objectives.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Engineering Computer Science Mathematics Information Technology or related field.
- A Masters degree in Health/Hospital Administration Business Administration or related field preferred.
- At minimum five (5) years of related experience (e.g. data governance data analysis and interpretation data visualization and quality improvement).
- Proficiency in Querying Languages such as SQL.
- Proven experience in managing a high performing and diverse team.
- Prior experience in Human Resources with a strong emphasis on HR reporting and analytics.
- Proficiency with analytics tools (e.g. Excel Power BI Tableau) and HR systems.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel including Pivot Tables Vlookup Charting Index Match Macros including VBA Conditional Formatting and data validation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills interpersonal skills and the ability to work collegially and interact effectively with diverse collaborators at all levels of the organization.
- Extensive change management knowledge and expertise.
- Ability to effectively communicate data insights to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders promoting data literacy throughout the organization.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical ability with attention to detail capable of visualizing complex organizational data to derive insights.
- Capacity to identify and address complex issues in healthcare delivery and develop actionable strategies for improvement.
- Highly inquisitive and can stay on top of the latest trends and industry best practices.
