Architect IP/Optical

You are the architectural driving force behind KPNs transformation towards a futureproof converged transport network. As Architect IP/Optical you define and evolve the target architecture of KPNs FabriQ platform integrating cuttingedge IP and Optical transport technologies. You translate strategic goals into detailed designs and lead crossfunctional collaboration to ensure scalability operational efficiency and longterm resilience.

• Define and evolve the target architecture for KPNs Metro Core and Peering networks covering IP/MPLS (SRv6 Segment Routing EVPN) and Optical Transport (WDM OTN).
• Translate the FabriQ strategy into detailed architectural designs network principles and multilayer design patterns.
• Collaborate with strategy leads to ensure architectural alignment with business objectives and customer value creation.
• Act as architectural lead during technology evaluations proofofconcepts and vendor engagements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring across engineering operations and project teams to ensure successful transformation.

You are a visionary architect with a handson approach. You simplify complexity build scalable and resilient designs and communicate technical decisions clearly at all levels. You combine strategic awareness with technical depth and enjoy guiding transformation across organizational boundaries. To be successful in this role youll need the following:

• Proven experience in telecom network architecture with strong expertise in SRv6 IP/MPLS (BGP ISIS Segment Routing EVPN) and Optical Transport (WDM OTN coherent optics).
• A systemsthinking mindset with the ability to design for scalability operational efficiency and futureproof growth.
• Understanding of photonics fiber infrastructure planning optical switching and converged IPoptical network design.
• Experience driving complex transformation programs in crossfunctional environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate architectural choices and their business impact.
• Strategic awareness of technology trends vendor landscapes and market developments in IP and Optical networking.

• Gross monthly salary between 6576 and 10389 depending on your experience (based on 40 hours)
