Job Scope: The Department Director of Behavioral health Outpatient Services provides operational leadership vision and accountability in function financial solvency analysis direction and evaluation of departmental services including Intake and Assessment Substance use prevention and recovery services (SUPR) Adult outpatient Child and Adolescent outpatient Behavioral support Medical Case Management and Mobile Crisis Response services. This role is a member of the Leadership Team and under the VP of Programs will develop and execute decisions that direct the strategic goals of the division and department to align with agency strategic goals and mission. The Director is responsible for oversight of departmental behavioral health contracts and grants management and establishes collaborative relationships with outside state and local agencies to better KYC clients. The Behavioral Health Outpatient Director will ensure that the program operates within the mission and philosophy of the organization to serve and facilitate the comprehensive behavioral health needs of the individuals and families in our community.
Responsibilities
- Program development implementation and evaluation: oversee the endtoend operational lifecycle of clinical programs including development implementation and evaluation and continuous process improvement. With Executive Leadership develop KPIs for the division.
- Responsible for ensuring programs are aligned with organizational goals and deliver measurable improvements in client outcomes and care efficiency. Ensure productivity and documentation standards are met.
- Develop overall program goals create programmatic and administrative policies and procedures and oversee operations of all programs in the Behavioral Health Outpatient Department
- Provide strategic guidance to departments oversee daily operations solve problems and assign tasks. Conduct interviews make hiring decisions handle performance evaluations disciplinary discussions and terminations. Actively work with HR and Senior Leadership on issues that may require termination or risk to KYC.
- Lead mentor and motivate reporting managers including Deputy Directors managers and professionals to achieve departmental goals. Ensure communication through reporting relationships so that departmental staff feel informed and heard. Evaluate and counsel team members on their performance to promote growth and excellence.
- Identify best practices and process improvements to achieve strategic planning goals administrative cost savings and growth strategies.
- Plan and develop educational training for departments including job specific training and new business processes in partnership with Deputy Directors managers and HR.
- Participate in planning and implementation of grant programs including grant research grant writing grant program design and implementation and/or compliance and grant reporting
- Direct and assure that all programs that are grant funded are meeting grant deliverables and participate in all funder meetings that monitor program goals
- Coordinate communication with city/township state and federal agencies and outside agencies involved with agency clients.
- Conduct regular planning evaluation and operational meetings with deputy directors
- Responsible for administrative supervision and compliance and deliverables for Kenneth Young Centers IHPA contract. Participate in IHPA client staffing monthly calls and IHPA trainings
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience - Masters or doctorate degree from an accredited university in psychology social workrelated discipline healthcare management or related field or combination of relevant experience and education is required.
- Licensed to practice independently in the State of Illinois; meet LPHA guidelines in IL Rule 132/140 Administrative Code
- Minimum of 57 years experience providing clinical services to youth and adults in a communitybased setting overseeing and managing operational functions data analytics or revenue cycle management.
- Minimum of 57 years experience providing post masters clinical supervision
Schedule - Full Time Exempt 37.5 hours per week
- Must be prepared to work a flexible schedule in response to the needs of the organization including evenings and weekends
