Production Equipment Mechanic

This is a fulltime onsite role located in Lake Forest.

Our client is an entrepreneurial company that provides contract manufacturing services to the cosmetics and personal care fields. Theyve been in business since 2018 and have grown at a very fast pace since that time. They specialize in developing and packaging liquids creams and hotfill personal care products into bottles tubes jars sachets packets and other package formats.

Purpose/Summary:

Maintenance Mechanics maintain and repair factory equipment and other industrial machinery such as conveying systems production machinery and packaging equipment. Maintenance Machine Mechanics install dismantle repair reassemble and move machinery in manufacturing facility.

KnowledgeSkillsAbilities:

Technical Degree or equivalent educational/military experience

Experience:

• Must have direct 35 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic with blending and filling machines.
• 3 or more years experience in equipment repair.
• Mechanical Skills including: Pneumatics Hydraulics Pumps Bearings Chains and Belting Conveying Systems Valves and Mechanical Troubleshooting. Perform maintenance service & repairs and is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance of liquid fillers pumps conveyors and coding equipment. Troubleshoot and Repair Blenders and Filling/Packaging Machines.
• Electrical Skills including: Basic Electricity Voltmeter and Amp Probe AC/DC Motors and Control Systems Basic Schematic Reading Basic PLC Knowledge and Electrical Troubleshooting.
• Machine Shop Skills including: Welding Fabrication and excellent abilities with all standard maintenance tools and shop equipment.
• Machine Experience including: MRM/Elgin Oden and Kalish liquid fillers Resina and Kapsall automatic cappers Videojet Ink printers etc.
• Be able to read and write English. Bilingual a plus.
• Meets service levels consistently; preferable to exceed expectations.
• Communicates timely and to the appropriate personnel with regards to any information about meeting work assignments as directed or as inferred to be successful.
• Uses materials tools and resources safely appropriately and with value considerations and conducts work activities in a safe manner with forethought to best actions rooted in safety for oneself and others.
• Provide troubleshooting diagnostic evaluation and repair of liquid filling equipment.
• Perform maintenance service & repairs and is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance of liquid fillers pumps conveyors and coding equipment.
• Attend and participate in all required staff functions including but not limited to Safety Committee Meetings Department Updates
• Promote safety by abiding by all related policies and procedures and set a good example for others.

Physical Capabilities:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and requires standing walking bending kneeling stooping crouching crawling and climbing all day including climbing ladders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
