Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a casual Research Assistant to join our Data & Evaluation Team. The successful candidate will assist with a range of evaluation activities to measure the impact and inform the continuous improvement of projects and services delivered to victimsurvivors of family violence and the sector.

About the Role

The Research Assistant will assist with data collection analysis visualisation and reporting . This position will assist with the coordination and delivery of surveys for evaluation purposes (via phone and email) and will help capture and present insights to support evidencebased decision making.

This includes:

  • Data Analysis & reporting
  • Quantitative data collection via surveys primarily
  • Assisting in scheduling and attending qualitative interviews/discussion sessions

About You

You are well organised and practiced in managing competing priorities. You have strong communication skills and have a good understanding of the ethical principles involved in human research particularly with respect to handling sensitive data from vulnerable groups.

Key to your success is your:

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct basic quantitative data analysis and create visual representations in Excel;
  • Ability to conduct basic qualitative analysis
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks;
  • Strong understanding of ethical research principles particularly when working with sensitive data and vulnerable groups; and
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage respectfully and empathetically with diverse groups.

You will have:

  • Experience collecting analysing and/or presenting qualitative/quantitative data;
  • Experience in ethical and sensitive data collection and/or a strong understanding of ethical principles in data collection and research;
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (psychology social sciences or similar); and
  • Experience working with vulnerable groups will be highly regarded.
