Job Description

MISSION:

OUTCOMES:

  1. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and job requirements.
    • Manage recruitment process from start to finish. (recruitment requests job postings screening interviewing onboarding).
    • Facilitate coop program.
    • Plan organize and attend recruitment fairs as requested.
    • Coordinate new employee onboarding/ offboarding including orientation and training.
  2. Employee Relations & Engagement
    • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
    • Facilitate conflict resolution by conducting thorough investigations and recommending fair actionable results.
    • Implement and maintain initiatives that enhance employee engagement morale and team building.
    • Conduct surveys and gather feedback to assess and improve workplace satisfaction.
  3. HR Operations & Compliance
    • Advise and guide employees on HR policies procedures and programs.
    • Stay informed about changes in employment law regulations and ensure compliance.
    • Update and communicate HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and best practices.
    • Act as a primary liaison between the company staff and IT support. Providing information approvals and answering questions as needed.
    • Conduct monthly health and safety inspections and participate in the quarterly health and safety meetings.
  4. Performance & Development
    • Identify training needs and coordinate/ support employee development programs.
    • Facilitate training sessions on various topics.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of performance management processes and support initiatives to improve employee performance.
    • Provide guidance to managers on performance evaluations goal setting and round table feedback.
  5. Payroll & Benefits Support
    • Assist with the administration of the payroll program including data entry and coordination with the payroll provider.
    • Monthend payroll related data entry into the companys accounting system.
    • Responsible for managing the onboarding and offboarding of employees in the RRSP and benefits programs including enrollment changes terminations and employee inquiries.
    • Educate employees on benefits and related programs.
  6. Take on to additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the team adapting to evolving priorities.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field.
  2. 23 years experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.
  3. Knowledge of employment laws regulations & HR best practices.
  4. Payroll and benefits administration experience is strongly preferred.
  5. Organizational Skills
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
    • Capacity to meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  6. Communication Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders and external partners.
  7. Professionalism:
    • Ensure high degree of confidentiality and integrity is maintained while handling client and employee information.
  8. Technical Skills:
    • Proficient with software applications/programs including HRIS MS Office (Word PowerPoint Excel Outlook).
    • Willingness to learn new software packages and systems. Staying updated with new tools and systems relevant to the role.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May be required to work outside regular hours to meet workload demands and/or deadlines.
  • This role requires a minimum inoffice presence of two days per week to support team collaboration and onsite responsibilities.
  • This is a fulltime 12month contract position to provide maternity coverage. Anticipated start date is June 1 2025.
