Automation Controls Engineer

Responsibilities include:
Provide Controls engineering support plant wide and controls.
Provide support to the maintenance department in equipment trouble shooting to reduce / eliminate downtime.
Review processes and procedures on an ongoing basis for safety quality and production efficiency
Support the maintenance department.
Troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and data handling functions in Control Logix processors.
Responsible for keeping PLC documentation up to date and archiving the PLC programs.
Support I/O devices connected to PLCs.
Applies knowledge of electronic and instrumentation principles to determine equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation.
Insure that abnormalities when observed are acted upon to resolve rootcauses.
Participate in Continuous Improvement / Lean activities.
Implementation of projects from the concept prototype and production phase.
Supports existing automated equipment.
Drives standards in programming and hardware while pushing for innovations and improvements.
Analyzes reviews and tests for accuracy and optimal implementation of developed solutions.
Education:
Candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science Computer Programmingor Computer Engineering
Prior experience in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred
Prior experiencein controls programmingrequired
Experience with Allen Bradley controls required
Experience with Siemens and Rockwell controls a plus
