The IP Policy Institute (IPPI) at the University of Akron School of Law (UAIP) seeks a Visiting Research Professor to assist and advise the IP Center with performing research organizing conferences and doing policy and scholarship in the field of copyright and cultural law and policy.
IPPI promotes rigorous factbased research and policy discussions exploring how intellectual property rights in innovation and creativity support flourishing economies businesses and individual lives.
At the direction of IPPIs faculty responsibilities include but are not limited to:
(1) provide strategic counsel and guidance on creative industry matters to Akron Laws IP Policy Institute;
(2) organize two copyright/creative industries roundtables yearly.
(3) perform research on copyright law and policy
Required Experience:
At least 5 years experience at a law firm or as in house corporate counsel working on copyright issues. At least 5 years experience working in academia on copyright issues
Preferred Experience: Scholarly and policy publications in the field of copyright. Executive level leadership experience in copyright policy or media organizations
Education: JD or equivalent law degree
