What we are looking for in YOU:
- Attention to detail is essential for consistent accuracy in handling technical details in a document.
- Must be able to gather data and draw valid conclusions from causeandeffect relationships. This is useful in getting to the true fact of a case.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively build and manage internal and external relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet daily deadlines for projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to inform managers and other stakeholders of results.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word Access and other analysis programs.
- Presentation skills including public speaking and presentation creation using PowerPoint or a similar program.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to independently solve problems with data.
Education and experience:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Actuarial Science or similar required.
- In lieu of a degree:
- 2 years of experience in Risk Management or Safety
- or 4 years of experience in a related field such as Construction Management or Operations Management
- or another equivalent combination of education and experience
- General insurance experience in relation to the overall business including the sources of risk and potential options for mitigation including the ability to perform financial analysis preferred.
- 2 years working with remote profit center managers to support corporate goals preferred.
- Knowledge of safety insurance workers compensation and claims management preferred.
A day in the life:
- Responsible for the independent contractor agreement and the certificate of insurance process ensuring subcontractor compliance in alignment with company standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for field offices insurance carriers brokers legal and contractors to ensure a smooth qualification/requalification process.
- Provide timely and accurate responses to data requests and inquiries regarding insurance and contractor qualification.
- Stay abreast of insurance industry standards policies changes and news.
- Analyze data to better understand potential risks concerns and outcomes of decisions.
- Problem solve and resolve all discrepancies that arise as a result of risk analyses.
- Create reports summaries presentations and process documents to display results.
- Collaborate with other team members to effectively analyze and present data.
- Any other duties assigned by management.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The primary work environment is an office
- The physical demands for this position include light lifting seeing (with a focus on reading) sitting more than 50% of the time talking and walking.
- Nights spent traveling away from home is less than 10%.
