About the role:
We are currently seeking casual Youth Workers (Outreach SupportWorkers) to join our team in Gladstone. Our Outreach SupportWorkers will provide respite to carers by taking planned outingswith young people (these shifts are likely to take place in theafternoon or on the weekend). As part of the Residential Care teamshifts in our Residential Care homes are also part of thisrole.
What will a typical day look like
- Provide opportunities for children and young people to develop and learn life skills appropriate to their age and ability.
- Support young people in maintaining connections with family culture country and community.
- Support young people to develop safety health and wellbeing measures.
- Support social recreational educational and health activities for young people in line with their individual care plan.
- Support young people in accessing appointments (transport).
- Engage therapeutically with young people.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or working toward this qualification (proof of enrolment required).
- 1year relevant experience working with young people in out of home care or similar field in line with meeting the Selection Criteria of the position description.
Alternative qualifications or working towards:
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Community Services or Youth Work
- Diploma in Behavioural Science Counselling Nursing or Mental Health

- Full COVID19 Vaccination
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
- Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
