Education/Experience
- Associate degree in an IT related field is required; bachelors degree in information technology or related discipline with an IT focus or a minimum of 10 years of experience in IT network engineering.
- Minimum 6 years experience in IT; 10 years experience preferred.
- Experience in voice and data network communication operations environment is preferred.
- Experience deploying/managing Cisco hardware/software is required.
- A CCNA certification is required or ability to obtain the certification in 6 months; CCNP CCIE is preferred.
- Experience with enterprise and distributed data center LAN/WAN architectures is preferred.
- Cisco Wireless experience is required.
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) experience is preferred.
- Cisco ASA experience is preferred.
- Experience with global MPLS WAN implementations is preferred.
- Palo Alto Firewall experience is required.
- Palo Alto Panorama and Prisma experience is preferred.
- Understanding of outsourced services delivery model; experience working in outsourced environment is preferred.
- Experience with VoIP technologies is preferred.
- Experience and knowledge in new computing architectures and implementation of networked computing structures is preferred.
- Understanding and working knowledge of SDWAN technology and deployment is preferred.
- VeloCloud experience is preferred.
Skills/Competencies
- Experience in running multisite Local Area Network/WLAN
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of network security and firewall management application.
- Strong understanding of voice and data network communication systems and interrelationships with other IT systems
- Knowledge of how IT systems can be structured and deployed to enable achievement of business goals and objectives.
- Ability to plan operations requirements one to three years in advance.
- Experience in creating and defining new operations models/procedures and explaining complex problems or situations.
- Ability to build and sustain effective partnerships with thirdparty services supplier.
- Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to dynamic business needs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport persuades others and gains understanding.

JOB SUMMARY
The senior network administrator is responsible for the design planning operation security and day to day management of Textrons internally managed multistate networks. This is a senior level position and involves substantial responsibility for the overall health operations and security of all network components. It is the expectation that this position will be able to plan for and solve the most complex network issues that may face Textron. This position is held by someone with ten or more years of experience as an IT network administrator/engineer.
This position works closely with the business units within the Textron portfolio and other IT support towers both internal to Textron and 3rd party managed. Some of the duties of the network administrator include installing configuring and upgrading network infrastructure and associated devices diagnosing and troubleshooting both common and unusual network problems performing preventive maintenance on the network along with monitoring performance of the local area network (LAN) and wireless local area network (WLAN).
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for working with the various Textron Business Units to provide complete network service delivery and support.
- Responsible for the daily monitoring configuration architecture and troubleshooting of all internally managed LAN networks.
- Responsible for physical install of network hardware and necessary cabling
- Provide guidance/training to junior team members on switches routers WLAN and AAA services.
- Complete necessary network drawings and documentation
- Provide process improvements for Textrons global voice and data network communication systems.
- Responsible for approvals of all new and changed network architectures for the enterprise and Textron business units.
- Work closely with the ICOE service delivery managers and BU relationship leaders to facilitate overall adherence to Textron network strategy and specific BU needs.
- Provide subject matter expertise for all issues related to data network communications.
- Provide oncall support and monitoring of the enterprise network on a scheduled rotation.
- Provide technology upgrade plans for network hardware and software.
