Job Description
Minimum Education:
Bachelors Degree Preferred
Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Demonstrated ability to lead groups both formally and informally. Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant area of practice.

Certifications:
Basic Life Support BLS (may be obtained week of orientation)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
RN Specialty Certified Preferred
Minimum Work Experience:
Required: 5 years of experience as Registered Nurse in a hospital setting. 3 years of progressive managerial experience.

Job Summary:
The Nursing Supervisor assumes shift accountability for hospital operations and provides direction and assistance to the primary caregivers in patient care areas.
Acts as a clinical and administrative resource to staff.
Coordinates and directs activities in emergency situations.
Counsels and directs unit resource nurses and staff in provision of direct nursing care.
Functions as a patient advocate. Investigates and resolves patient/customer and staff complaints. Seeks guidance as necessary.

The fourth floor of the hospital is devoted to our Family Birthing Center and Intermediate Care Nursery.
