Job Description

EMTB Training (Rookie School)

MEMS offers college level training at our headquarters in downtown Little Rock. MEMS EMTB training otherwise known as Rookie School is usually held 3 times each year.

To be considered for MEMS EMT Rookie School you must meet these requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Arkansas drivers license and acceptable driving record.
  • Minimum age of 19.
  • Must be physically fit and able to pass a physical examination.
  • Must have acceptable scores on thecollege placement Accuplacer exam which is offered onsite at MEMS at no cost.
  • Must pass a preemployment drug screening.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Suitable and qualified candidates are selected for Rookie School and are paid an hourly rate of$11.00per hour while attending our 9week fulltime inhouse EMT training. After successfully completing the program and obtaining an Arkansas license and National Registry certification fulltime employment continues with field training. Once complete graduates are eligible to bid for a fulltime shift and be a part of an ambulance crew.

Licensed EMTs with no experience receive a starting base annual salary of$32000 and full benefits (Hourly rate is calculated based on shifts assigned). After 1 year of service base pay increases to $34340.
