The Illinois Department of Insurance is seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant in the Analysis Unit of the Producer Regulatory Section in the Enforcement/Investigations Division. This position assists in the development and implementation of unit policies and procedures related to the regulation of insurance producers and related entities operating in the State of Illinois; receives reviews and process insurance license applications referred to the Producer Regulatory unit; handles external and internal referrals requiring further investigation and follow up coordinates assignment of investigative files; monitors unit workflow and prepares progress reports for supervisor; conducts reviews and edits regulatory investigation reports prior to finalization and acceptance; assists in coordinating and providing training for unit staff; and serves as a liaison with internal and external groups and committees. Travels to exam sites to assist with the training of staff and to the Departments Chicago office to assist with hearings. We invite all qualified applicants to apply.

Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the regulation of companies insurance producers premium finance companies public adjusters third party prescription administrators and any other related entities required to hold an insurance license operating in the State of Illinois
Serves as a unit liaison with internal and external groups committees and other operational areas within the Department ensuring policies and procedures for regulation of Licensees are followed.
Conducts reviews and edits regulatory analysis and investigation reports prior to final review and acceptance by management.
Assists the supervisor in coordinating and providing training to staff on administrative policies and procedures investigative resources and insurance related issues such as new laws and statutory requirements.
Participates in the review and interpretation of new and revised legislation effecting producer regulatory activities.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience demonstrating the ability to exercise sound judgement in analyzing appraising evaluating and solving complex procedural organizations administrative and technical problems with a proven track record of efficiently managing multiple tasks while consistently meeting workrelated deadlines.
Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience showing a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in the development and completion of workrelated projects and procedures while skilled in implementing and communicating standards and procedures to team members to ensure consistent and successful project outcomes.
Prefers at least one (1) year of advanced experience in office methods and procedures including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with a demonstrated skill in word processing database management and spreadsheet applications with a focus on technical competence in documentation and data analysis.
Prefers at least one (1) year in effectively preparing and distributing internal and external correspondence emphasizing on strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to create comprehensive reports and articulate information clearly with a demonstrated ability to organize and present facts and findings in a clear and logical manner both orally and in writing.
Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience interpreting Illinois insurance laws administrative codes and ensuring compliance with such regulations with a demonstrated skill in applying this knowledge in both written and oral correspondence.
Prefers strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams colleagues and external stakeholders with an established ability to maintain positive working relationships with agency officials and organizational representatives including the general public.
Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience in an insurance related field.

The Department of Insurance (DOI) regulates the insurance market in the State of Illinois including but not limited to licensing and educating insurance agents investigating Workers Compensation fraud and examining the operations and finances of insurance companies domiciled in the state.
