POSITION: At Risk Intervention Paraprofessional
LOCATION: Oakwood Elementary School / Westwood Elementary School (will shift based on need of students).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
1. An Associates degree or completion of two years of college.
2. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
1. Some computer experience; would consider someone with no computer experience butwould be willing to train.
2. Previous experience within an intervention program with staff and students.
3. Experience working with children in an instructional setting.
4. Experience in the supervision of younger children.
DUTIES:
1. Instruct / support at risk students in grades K5 under the leadership of a certified teacher.
2. Attend conferences and inservices.
3. Attend intervention staff meetings.
4. Participate in end of year inventory.
5. Assist intervention team with testing.
6. Effective communication collaboration and interpersonal skills for building collegial relationships with students parents and colleagues.
7. Complete quarterly progress reports on students receiving intervention.
8. Participate in purchasing supplies.
9. Assist Director of Elementary Education / Intervention Coach in end of year reporting.
10. Actively participate in developing instructional lesson plans.
11. Must have fingerprints scanned electronically and submitted to Michigan State Policeprior to hire.
12. Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. A minimum of 5.5 hours
2. Salary and benefits in accordance with the support staff contract
