Our mission is to inspire all who visit commemorate and honor the lives of those we have lost while fostering engagement through educational programming public events and meaningful experiences.

Position Summary
Mount Auburn Cemetery seeks a highly organized selfmotivated and collaborative Senior Events Coordinator for a 9month temporary position with potential for fulltime employment. This role will support the planning and execution of Public Events Private Events and Advancement Events and serve as a key team player. Reporting initially to the Director of Events and later to an Event Manager this position plays a critical role in delivering exceptional event experiences across the organization.
Key Responsibilities

Event Coordination & Execution
  • Plan manage and execute logistics for public private and advancement events.
  • Oversee event timelines vendor coordination onsite execution run of shows and event scripts.
  • Contribute creative ideas and problemsolving solutions to enhance event experiences.
  • Ensure seamless dayof operations including setup guest services and postevent debriefing.
Administrative & Team Support
  • Provide highlevel administrative support: manage calendars coordinate meetings prepare agendas and take accurate meeting notes.
  • Offer strong support to the Events Team during a transitional period taking initiative and ownership of key tasks.
Stakeholder & Team Communication
  • Maintain clear consistent and professional communication with internal teams vendors donors and community partners.
  • Foster strong crossdepartmental collaboration to ensure alignment and smooth execution of events.
  • Represent Mount Auburn with poise clarity and attentiveness in all interactions.
Marketing & Content Support
  • Assist in the creation of promotional content and basic graphic design for eventrelated marketing.
  • Partner with the Communications and Advancement teams to align messaging and branding.
Qualifications
  • 35 years of professional event coordination experience preferably in nonprofit cultural or missiondriven settings.
  • Strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and is willing to pitch in where needed.
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills; confident interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Creative problem solver who can stay calm and flexible under pressure.
  • Highly selfmotivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Extremely organized detailoriented and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe Creative Suite Canva or similar tools is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends in support of events.
Contract Details
  • Start Date: ASAP (Spring 2025)
  • Duration: 9month temporary position with potential for fulltime employment
  • Location: Onsite in Cambridge MA (Hybrid flexibility available)
