Due to continued growth we have an opportunity for aProduction Supervisorto join our teamlocated at ourRacine facility to help support operations on1st shift.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising shop employees in the manufacturing environment for machining and/or assembly departments. This position plans and assigns work implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods equipment operating procedures and working conditions.
Education and/or Experience:- Bachelors degree with 58 years of experience in a production environment preferred or an Associates degree with equivalent combination of education and experience
- 35 years of experience in a supervisory role
Computer Skills:- Working knowledge of production planning and scheduling processes with experience in ERP systems; JDE preferred
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Communication Skills:- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups including employees or customers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to present complex ideas anticipate objections and influence others to adopt a different view and/or approach
Technical Requirements:- Knowledge of project management processes
- Ability to apply lean/six sigma concepts in the work environment
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Supervisory experience including coaching directing and motivating associates
- Knowledgeable of OHSA/Safety requirements and appropriate Environmental standards
Work Environment:- Manufacturing facility with frequent presence on the plant floor
Specialized Knowledge:- Thorough knowledge of machining processes
- Assembly of transmissions powertrain products
Other Requirements:- Ability to identify and analyze operational data to solve unique and complex problems
- Excellent organization communication teamwork and interpersonal skills required with ability to foster teamwork
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS |
- Plans and assigns work for direct reports in assigned departments. Coordinates training for assigned personnel.
- Reviews employee performance. Completes Skill Based Pay evaluations.
- Ensures effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Participates in employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
- Manage departmental performance measures including Gemba boards and provides regular progress reports to management. Implements change to maintain business demands.
- Works with planning to ensure production schedules are achieved.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hours staffing and equipment requirements to complete assignments.
- Attends and participates in Daily Management meeting.
- Interprets Company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Performs incident and accident investigations.
- Balances quality productivity cost safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Participates in hiring firing discipline and performance decisions pertaining to direct reports.

Required Experience:
