About the Role
Targeted Family Help Melton and Harborough is a service that offers timely support to families in the community and with the home offering practical help building on strengths and local community support to improve daily life positively impacting upon outcomes for children and young people. The team work out of our Family Hubs linking closely with the partners that use them providing a link between them and the families within our community.
We are looking for passionate creative empathetic people to be part of this team. To provide a service that allows for early identification of and intervention for emerging worries including but not limited to supporting parents in the home with challenging behaviours work with young people and their families struggling with emotional wellbeing and/or at risk of exclusions supporting families with SEND needs child development concerns and issues with home and money. Working with the children young people and families to support offering advice and strategies that prevents escalation and allowing development of new skills and independence from services.
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

About You
To apply for this post you must have:
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject e.g. social care health or childcare ORsubstantial experience in providing direct support to families that clearly demonstrates the experience skills competencies and knowledge needed to support young people and families.
- Experience in delivering timelimited focussed direct work within the home environment to support families building on a brief assessment of need to provide an evidencebased and planned programme of support. Delivering group work and targeted clinics to support a specific locality need.
- Experience of working in a multiagency environment
- Experience of working with families within a safeguarding environment
- Knowledge of child development and the impact trauma can have on early years development knowledge of SEND and an awareness of issues which may have an impact on the lives of families such as domestic violence and abuse mental health difficulties substance misuse poverty
- An ability to engage with children young people and families on a one to one sessions or within a group and family environment. To develop their own strategies and support networks within their family friends and community to promote sustainable and supportive change
- An ability to be creative and family led in interventions that are tailored to meet the needs of the children young people and families you will be working with
You must also have an understanding of and commitment toequality diversity and inclusion.
