Job Description

Since we opened our doors in 2009 the world of commerce has evolved immensely and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale we saw sellers stymied by disparate outmoded products and tools that wouldnt work together.

So we expanded into software and started building integrated omnichannel solutions to help sellers sell online manage inventory offer buy now pay later functionality book appointments engage loyal buyers and hire and pay staff. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper increase order sizes and compete at a larger scale.

Today we are a partner to sellers of all sizes large enterprisescale businesses with complex operations sellers just starting as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. The Role

Square is operated by an incredible team that is on a mission to make commerce easy for all types of businesses around the world. As a Senior Product Manager on the International product you will be responsible for defining multiyear product strategy for your market coordinating and executing projects and optimizing the experience for sellers in Canada. Our approach at Square is both customerfocused and datadriven. You will need to dig in to deeply understand our customers and their needs define and analyze data and guide our worldclass team to move fast and ship remarkable solutions.

In this role you will also collaborate closely with designers engineers analysts marketers and other crossfunctional team members within the organization to ensure that our product reaches customers and provides a remarkable delightful experience. You Will

  • Define Square product strategy for Canada that is cohesive with Squares overall global strategy/direction and optimize our customers experience using a variety of inputs and clearly articulate rationale and data behind decisions
  • Deeply understand our customers and their needs and guide our worldclass team to ship remarkable solutions
  • Identify opportunities for Square and our customers propose and evaluate initiatives that will be most impactful promote them across the organization and execute these initiatives from ideation through release.
  • Expertly and openly collaborate with and influence crossfunctional partners and stakeholders throughout Square
  • In collaboration with engineering marketing and analytics partners lead the endtoend success of projects from discovery to launch
  • Serve as the point person for your product area to leadership and across the organization
  • Influence key stakeholders throughout Square to align intent resources and prioritization

You Have

  • 8 years of product management experience
  • Vision: Youve formed gained buyin and driven key strategies shaping the direction of your team.
  • Results: Youre excellent tactically with a proven track record of shipping simple elegant products at scale.
  • Analytical skills: You have a great ability to absorb and apply data to your decision making.
  • Customer empathy: You have experience shaping product direction and execution based on customer needs.
  • Hustle: Youre scrappy able to push through obstacles and ready to roll up your sleeves wherever needed.
  • Commercial: You are growthoriented commercially savvy and have partnered with GTM functions to bring products to market.
  • A collaborative approach: Experience driving alignment with crossfunctional partners in a complex organization.
  • Natural curiosity and obsession with the details
  • Experience working through problems with high ambiguity and without a definitive answer.
  • Developed industryleading products that have gained a strong followership and product loyalty.
