The Senior eHealth Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining and guiding the overall IT architecturevision strategy and principles for Alberta Healths evolving healthcare system. This includes establishing an enterprise architecture framework to enable integrated costeffective and futureready digital health services. The role requires close collaboration with multiple health agencies and stakeholders to ensure alignment with Alberta Healths IT Operating Model and support the formation of the Shared Services Entity (SSE).
Key Responsibilities: Enterprise IT Alignment and StrategyDefine and communicate the architecture vision and principles across Albertas health system.
Lead the development and implementation of the enterprise architecture framework to eliminate redundancy and improve system integration.
Provide architectural support to the SSE which serves ACA PCA ALA RA Covenant Health and AHS.
Design and implement IT governance structures to support the SSEs alignment with Alberta Healths IT Operating Model.
Oversee system rationalization and ensure interoperability between Alberta Health and SSE IT platforms.
Collaborate with the Ministry of Technology and Innovation (T&I) to refine governance models.
Align health system IT assets with the new healthcare service delivery mandates.
Architect solutions for system interoperation (e.g. Connect Care Netcare CII EMRs).
Develop architecture to support patient flow and continuity across care sectors (continuing care mental health addictions).
Provide technical guidance for command center architectures supporting clinical operations.
Guide the planning and implementation of strategic business and technology initiatives.
Deliver futurestate architecture roadmaps and governance documentation.
Ensure alignment with GoA strategies and health system objectives.
Engage stakeholders and drive change management across programs.
Develop a comprehensive IT architecture roadmap and change management plan for SSE.
Architect enterprise platforms including CRM IAM cloud FHIRbased systems and integration platforms.
Design AI architecture strategy focused on clinical decision support automation and audit capabilities.
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience:
5 years in documenting application architectures in enterprise IT environments.
5 years in designing implementing and supporting platform solutions.
5 years leading complex multistakeholder IT projects.
5 years in healthcare IT.
2 years advising on strategic IT or organizational initiatives.
2 years working with data integration between clinical systems.
2 years contributing to or developing application architecture standards.
2 years experience with FHIRbased integration.
2 years experience with technical writing and verbal communication.
