Job Description

Environmental & Sustainability Manager

Location: Colnbrook, Slough
Salary: 65,000 - 70,000
Hours: Full-time, 45 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Are you someone who's truly passionate about sustainability and ready to turn that passion into real impact? We're partnering with a well-established UK food manufacturer to help them find their first Environmental & Sustainability Manager-a newly created position based at their busy production site in Slough.

This isn't just a box-ticking role. It's a chance to lead environmental strategy from the ground up, influence high-level decision-making, and help a business already on the path to Carbon Net Zero make meaningful, measurable progress.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building and leading robust environmental and energy management systems (aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001
  • Managing and reporting on carbon emissions (Scopes 1, 2, and 3
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, including SECR and Climate Change Agreements
  • Leading initiatives to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen sustainable practices across the supply chain
  • Acting as the sustainability voice at group-level meetings-shaping strategy beyond just one site

What We're Looking For

  • Solid experience in environmental or sustainability management within manufacturing (food/FMCG is a bonus)
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental legislation, ISO standards, and carbon reporting
  • Confident communicator, skilled at building buy-in across teams and senior stakeholders
  • Ideally, you'll bring a relevant professional membership (e.g., AMIEMA)
