Job Description
The Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport is dedicated to empowering young adults through education leadership development and handson construction training. As a YouthBuild Construction Supervisor you will play a crucial role in guiding and mentoring program participants as they gain valuable construction skills while working on realworld projects that benefit the community.
What Youll Do:
Lead & Train Supervise coach and mentor YouthBuild participants in handson construction training ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
Oversee Projects Manage construction site operations coordinate workflow and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Ensure Safety Enforce OSHA and workplace safety regulations while fostering a culture of responsibility and teamwork.
Collaborate Work closely with program staff community partners and local contractors to enhance training opportunities.
Teach Skills Provide instruction in carpentry framing drywall roofing and other construction trades.
What Were Looking For:
Experience 3 years in construction carpentry or a related trade with leadership or training experience preferred.
Certifications OSHA 10 or 30 First Aid/CPR preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Communication Strong ability to engage and motivate young adults from diverse backgrounds.
ProblemSolving Ability to troubleshoot construction challenges and adapt to dynamic work environments.
Passion Commitment to youth development and community service.
Pay: $55000.00 $65000.00 per year
