The Credit Risk Officer is responsible for assessing monitoring and managing the Banks credit risk exposure. This role involves analysing onboarding and monitoring corporate commercial and retail loans of the Bank ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements and collaborating with various departments to mitigate the associated risks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive credit risk assessments and follow up on outcomes and ensuring that essential elements of loan contracts and/or risk mitigation strategy properly addressed.
- Collaborate with the First Line of Defense to ensure that credit application files are complete supplementing them with thorough risk analysis to assess loan impacts and support decisionmaking. This may include analysing financial statements industry trends and macroeconomic factors.
- Develop and review credit lending policies and procedures integrating new business developments while ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Work with relevant departments and external service providers to define and create necessary risk control tools.
- Monitor the credit portfolio perform accuracy checks and identify early signs of potential risk.
- Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis recommending risk mitigation strategies such as credit restructuring and provisioning.
- Prepare detailed risk reports for management regulators and internal stakeholders/committees.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of credit risk processes and tools including delivering training sessions to enhance risk awareness across the Bank.
- Potentially manage and mentor other risk officers performing credit risk controls guiding them in their roles and ensuring effective collaboration within the risk management team.
Qualifications :
- University Degree in business economics finance or related field with 5 years of experience in Banking in Luxembourg including demonstrated expertise in credit risk management
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. CRR/CRD EBA/GL/2020/06 CSSF circulars)
- Excellent proficiency in English; French is an asset
- Strong analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking capabilities
- Excellent communication skills including ability to write clear and concise reports
- Ability to work under pressure manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
