Job Description

The Copywriter serves as a member of our Outdoors Copywriting team working to craft the brand product and customermessages used in various marketing and communications initiatives and programs. Collaborates closely with our internal teams to develop creative solutions that can be deployed across multiple channels and segments. Responsible for maintaining and supporting the teams brand/messaging standards processes and tools needed to ensure creative quality and integrity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create compelling content for brand campaigns and new product launches
  • Function as a collaborative partner with crossfunctional teams conceptualize and develop strategic impactful messaging.
  • Leverage customer insights and industry trends to craft messaging that supports driving product sales.
  • Simplify often complex product data and feature sets and processes into clear concise communications that effectively position and sell our products.
  • Serve as a copy editor ensuring the ongoing consistency and quality of each project.
  • Support the development and deployment of brand/messaging standards processes and tools.
  • Support as needed special sales and customer projects.
  • Support the teams overall process improvement efforts.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in communications marketing or related field.
  • 13 years of copywriting experience in Marketing or Communications. Experience within the building products or consumer/durable goods industry is preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of AP Style.
  • Excellent copywriting editing proofreading interviewing and grammar skills.
  • Must have the ability to translate productbased technical information into crisp compelling marketing messages for both trade and consumer audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think longterm and strategically.
  • Experience working with crossfunctional teams to gather relevant information needs to deliver successful messaging.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Be prepared to share your portfolio of previous work.


Additional Information :

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $56000 $84000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to education training experience professional achievement business need and location. In addition to base salary employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a rolebased sales incentive plan.
