Service Advisor Job Description Template

We are looking for a detailoriented Service Advisor to help our service department and handle customer service interactions reports and repairs. The service advisors responsibilities include providing the highest level of customer service developing lasting customer relationships and managing the service team members. The service advisor maintains a strong working knowledge of all industry standards and practices as well as the companys products and services.

To be successful as a service advisor you should display a strong customer service minded attitude as well as excellent communication skills. You should also have the ability to develop and maintain strong positive relationships with customers and fellow staff.

Service Writer Responsibilities:

  • Delegating and directing service tasks monitoring the progress of current projects and working with service team members to ensure the teams objectives and sales goals are met.
  • Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and ensure repeat customers.
  • Assisting with or performing administrative tasks such as managing and updating invoices processing new orders and tracking inventory.
  • Resolving service desk problems and improving service methods to increase the service desks productivity and customer service.
  • Auditing work and customer service to ensure the companys high standards efficiency and productivity goals are met.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with manufacturers dealers and Sales Representatives.
  • Maintaining a strong working knowledge of industry regulations restrictions and laws ensuring the companys adherence to these regulations and remaining current on the industrys standards and new innovations materials tools and processes.

Service Writer Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a service advisor or similar role
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of automotive service and repair industry
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Attention to detail
  • Previous sales and management experience may be advantageous.
  • Strong industry knowledge
  • Computer literacy and good organizational skills.
  • Strong creative thinking and problemsolving skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
  • Valid Drivers License
