Position Summary
Under the supervision of the RWC Director the Graduate Assistant of Student Personnel is responsible for matters relating to staffing including hiring training staff evaluations promotion/dismissal recommendations and payroll. The Graduate Assistant of Student Personnel ensures that policies and procedures related to staffing are administered effectively and respectfully. The Graduate Assistant of Student Personnel mentors Building Supervisors and RWC Staff members to assume responsibility for day to day operations events and atmosphere at the RWC . The Graduate Assistant of Student Personnel is committed to the development of a student work force dedicated to support and promote the RWC and Universitys mission. This position will meet the following NACE Competencies: Leadership The GA of student personnel is in charge of the schedule oversight and onboarding of the student staff. They work to create new training techniques and ideas to train their peers. They will work to train the attendants and the supervisor who are in a leadership role already. This gives them the experience in being a leader to the leaders on the staff. They are often looked to for questions and guidance from the staff. They serve as an active member of the professional staff and a valuable liaison between the student staff and the professional staff. Based on their schedule they are often looked to as the evening go to person for questions and concerns. Technology They are in charge of learning and using the WhenToWork platform for scheduling time off and verifying hours on their time cards. They do this in conjunction with the SelfService portal for the students. In addition to these two platforms they also use Fusion regularly to be able to onboard new students in the software. This allows them the knowledge to not only use the software but to also be proficient enough in it to teach. These two softwares are used across the country by Recreational Facilities and can help lead them into successful roles in the campus recreation field.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelors Degree in Business Recreation or Sports Management Exercise Science or related field Experience: A minimum of one year experience in Recreation or fitness center programming and operations. Experience in a management or supervisory position. Skills: Must have strong leadership and organizational skills. This individual must be able to work with a diverse population that would include students faculty staff alumni and community leaders. University Mission: Must be able to support and promote the Universitys Mission.
