What You Will Do:

The Associate Director of Strategic Sourcing is an adaptable strategic leader who will lead a team of Strategic Sourcing Managers in support of the Mechanical Systems and/or Composites commodities. This individual will report to the Director of Strategic Sourcing and must have the ability to communicate and partner in a collaborative manner with suppliers and crossfunctional teams including Module Centers Operations Strategy Transitions Finance Contracts Quality Programs and Legal in support of sourcing strategies.

  • Provide leadership to the commodity by setting objectives and goals coaching and developing talent and structuring the team to most efficiently meet all required metrics.
  • In collaboration with RTX and PWC execute strategic sourcing plan aligned with the Strategic Sourcing Reviews (SSR process) and drive Synergy Savings.
  • Develop short and longterm sourcing strategies
  • Assist in alignment of commodity strategies amongst the crossfunctional teams as presented during the annual Strategic Sourcing Review
  • Drive long term agreement execution in a timely manner
  • Participate in key long term agreement negotiations and be a key escalation point for relationship and contractual issues
  • Understand and utilize contractual terms in long term agreements to impact the business favorably
  • Leverage understanding of: the manufacturing process for mechanical systems and/or composites; business finance and accounting principles; and business contracts and agreements to drive organizational value and develop winwin solutions with suppliers. Influence multidisciplinary teams and develop strong positive partnerships to achieve measurable operational targets
  • Drive cost savings projects to achieve the financial plan targets and present status monthly to the VP of Strategic Sourcing
  • Support War on Cost initiatives
  • Partner with Operations Strategy and Finance in make / buys decisions
  • Facilitate technical recommendations to mitigate risk of obsoleting materials
  • Ensure alignment and provide support for OneRTX initiatives
  • Support the Partnership Office in key strategic strategies with Partners and suppliers
  • Drive continuous improvements into the organization utilizing CORE
  • Support various strategic initiatives across the business
  • Ensure compliance with all Export Ethics and corporate policies and initiatives
  • Build and maintain effective supplier relationships

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelors degree and 12 years of related experience in Supply Chain and/or Production Planning; Or an advanced degree with 10 years of experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience managing salaried employees
  • Experience leading high impact & complex negotiations to successful outcomes
  • Strong financial acumen & background building business cases
  • Experience working with Mechanical Systems and/or Composites suppliers
  • Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) Champion strongly preferred along with experience with cost savings and continuous improvement accomplishments
  • Experience using SAP

This role is:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 147000 USD 295000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual shortterm and/or longterm incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collectivebargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.
