Head Womens Golf Coach
Compensation and Benefits
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $7830 $8453/month
Commensurate with education experience and qualifications. Coaching positions are not tenure track and do not guarantee future employment rights. This is a fulltime exempt 12month appointment.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical dental and vision plans membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) sick and vacation time and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary
- Teach and develop sport specific skills and coaching strategies that enhance the athletic performance of studentathletes in practice and competition.
- Support the conditioning and training of studentathletes in conjunction with the strength/weight staff the athletic training staff and team physicians.
- Emphasize academic success and retention to enhance graduation rates and the academic progress rate (APR).
- Recruit quality studentathletes in compliance with the institutions recruitment policy and develop and enforce discipline through written team rules Department of Athletics code of conduct and university rules policies and standards.
- Ensure that the program is operated in compliance with NCAA Conference and University rules.
- Perform the administrative duties associated with being a Head Womens Golf Coach including:
- Developing and administering the sports budget preparing data and reports as necessary.
- Assisting in revenue generation and fundraising activities.
- Assisting with and advocating for full compliance with NCAA Conference and University rules for all constituents.
- Schedule and organize practice and playing competitions within the parameters identified by the Department of Athletics.
- Coordination of team travel.
- The Head Womens Golf Coach will be reasonably available to and work professionally with the media as well as cooperatively with the University and Department staff members.
- Perform all duties of a Division I Head Womens Golf Coach with integrity and professionalism on and off the field.
- Achieve team performance and success within the conference regionally and nationally.
- Effective allocation of athletic scholarships to studentathletes within NCAA rules and parameters established by the Department of Athletics.
- Development of booster and fan support in conjunction with the Bulldog Foundation and marketing staff.
- Work effectively and cooperatively with staff and administration.
Key Qualifications
- Working knowledge of the principles and methods for designing and teaching individuals and groups.
- Knowledge and expertise in advanced golf techniques strategy and player development.
- Principles and practices of effective leadership motivation and performance evaluation.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and a history of rules compliance.
- Coaching philosophy and teaching concepts that emphasize player development sportsmanship and competitive excellence.
- History of success as a player or coach as evidenced by individual and/or team success.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with athletes administrators support staff and community groups.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and project a professional approach and attitude.
- Develop the ability of others to perform by providing ongoing feedback and providing opportunities to learn through formal and informal methods.
- Review and evaluate program service delivery methods and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to standard operating procedures.
- Adapt leadership styles to a variety of situations to inspire motivate and challenges others; inspire and foster team commitment spirit pride and trust.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with ability to engage with different levels and communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Ability to lead and guide studentathletes select and use appropriate training methods; foster an environment to promote studentathlete wellbeing academic success and personal development.

Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree from an institution of higher education which is accredited by one of the six US regional accrediting associations or by an equivalent international institution of higher education.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in playing coaching or teaching golf at a competitive or professional level.
- History of success as a player or coach as evidenced by individual and/or team results.
