Title: Lecturer CC (Biology Wastewater Biology)

Hiring Unit: UH Maui College

Location: Kahului Maui

Salary Information: Minimum $1911 per credit hour; subject to Lecturer placement

Schedule: Part Time

Temporary/Permanent: Temporary

Funding: General Funds

Other Conditions:

Fall Spring Summer Sessions as needed.

Parttime Lecturer applicant pool.

Nontenure pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.

Evening weekend distance education television and or offcampus classes for UH Maui College and or Outreach sites (Lanai and Molokai) may be assigned as part of regular workload.

This is NOT a remote position job requires inperson work.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Teach assigned courses in the discipline qualified for.
  2. Maintain minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
  3. Prepare course syllabi grading and reports related to teaching and student progress
  4. Work under supervision of discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
  5. May include instructional assignments involving distance education.
  6. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

As listed below. All minimum qualifications must be from an accredited institution and met by the effective date of appointment. If qualified applicants are not available those not meeting the minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.

  • Masters Degree in Biology

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Successful community college and or university teaching experience in the field
  2. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
  3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  4. Ability to use writing assignments and integrate teaching of appropriate thinking skills in to course content as an integral part of students classroom learning activities
