Position Summary

The Summer Program Facilitator will be responsible for the provision of group and individualized services to individuals aged three years or older who are participating in ALCDSBs Ready Set School program. Ready Set School is a transition program that focusses on developing individual and specific skills in the area of social play communication activities of daily living and behavior regulation. The Facilitators may also be responsible for completing assessments for skill development development of individualized goals and plans data collection and regular consultation with parents/guardians Student Services team members and school teams. Facilitators will maintain uptodate individual student information records and confidentiality must be maintained.

Qualifications

  • College Diploma in Behavioural Science Communication Disorders Early Childhood Education or a comparable field and
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA);
  • Minimum two of years experience working with students with ASD and other complex needs;
  • Experience in assessing client need and group facilitation;
  • Working knowledge of community resources and behaviour management;
  • Must be able to function independently yet be part of an interdisciplinary team;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Behaviour Management Solutions (BMS) Training is asset;Training in the Ages and Stages Questionnaire and developing Developmental Service Plans is an asset
  • Knowledge of the FWords framework is considered an asset
  • Training as a Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) considered an asset;
  • Current First Aid/CPR considered an asset.

Understands that work done in one part of ALCDSB impacts a variety of groups inside and outside of the Board.
