Role Purpose:
The AOD Clinician Forensic Group Programs Counselling & Assessment is responsible for administering the Kickstart program inclusive of groups (G24 and G42) Individual Programs (IP8 and IP15) and Kickstart Inductions.
Key areas of focus:
Duties include but are not limited to
Providing high quality engagement assessment treatment and support services to individuals and their families through evidencebased therapeutic counselling and group work utilising an intersectional lens.
Developing treatment plans and providing effective counselling interventions and assertive referrals to meet the individual needs of clients and their families including those with complex needs.
Collaborating with the leadership team to plan and facilitatethe Kickstart groups program
Collaborating with the leadership team to plan and facilitate the Choices groups program (up to 4x sessions per year)
Collaborating with the Kickstart Admin team to communicate with CCOs and other treatment providers regarding a clients journey through the Kickstart process.
Providing generalist AOD counselling (both Forensic and nonforensic) as needed
Considering the needs of and identifying any risks to vulnerable children working with families to develop safety plans and facilitating referrals to partner Child First and Family service agents when indicated
Creating and maintaining sound working relationships/ partnerships with local corrections staff and departments
Communicating with individual stakeholders in a timely manner regarding a clients progress
Maintaining uptodate progress notes case files and data entry in a timely confidential and professional manner.

OV requires staff in clinical positions to have the following competencies (or their equivalent). Where people do not already have these competencies OV will invest in the staffs professional development by providing them through our registered training organisation (RTO).
