Job Description

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Dental Assistant you will work with our experienced staff to provide essential dental services to our inmate population in a compassionate and professional manner. Your duties will include assisting a dentist during examinations and treatments scheduling appointments managing patient flow maintaining dental records providing chairside assistance and performing dental laboratory procedures. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the oral health of our inmates and contribute to the overall functioning of the dental office.

- Fulltime employment 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36773.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; or
- Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
You must have successfully completed the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam as required by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
