Athletic Director
Shorter University a Christcentered liberal arts University in Rome Georgia is seeking an experienced administrator to serve as Athletic Director. The Director provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Universitys athletics program consisting of 20 mens and womens sports. Shorter University is a member of the NCAA (Division II) and Conference Carolinas.
Applicants must have a Bachelors (Masters preferred) degree and at least 510 years experience in athletic administration and fundraising at the collegiate level. Knowledge of and experience with NCAA regulations and processes is also required.
Full job description:
- Provide Christ centered leadership for the Department of Athletics and its student athletes.
- Maintain department records and files. Provide consistent reports to the President related to compliance academics fund raising player eligibility and other related documentation.
- Recruit hire and supervise athletic coaches related staff (parttime and fulltime) as well as volunteers.
- Oversee the recruitment and maintenance of Graduate Assistants for athletic teams.
- Oversee the development of biblically centered programs and opportunities for student athletes coaches and staff.
- Provide management for the athletic facilities and equipment.
- Develop and maintain a collaborative and balanced athletic budget. Provide proactive oversight of athletic expenditures. Approve purchase orders in advance.
- Foster and maintain a close relationship with Academic Affairs Admissions Office of the Registrar and Financial Aid.
- In consultation with the President plan and develop an fund raising strategic plan (direct programs sponsorships marketing) for the Athletic Department.
- Develop and coordinate strategic plans for the Athletic Department that include resource development and facility growth and planning.
- Represent the University at conference and national meetings.
- Provide summer missions and ministry opportunities for student athletes and coaches.
- Serve as a community liaison for the Athletic Department.
- Ensure the Universitys compliance with all Conference Carolinas and NCAA Division 2 regulations
