Job Description

Join our Nutrition First Team and help us in promoting prevention and shaping the health of the next generation by decreasing risk factors for chronic disease through a lifetime of good nutrition. The Compliance Monitor is responsible for recruiting potential providers monitoring record keeping and providing nutrition education for participating child care providers. This positions also provides public education regarding USDA/CCFP and child care/nutrition related topics and activities.

Candidates must submit applications by 05/19/25 to be considered for firstround interviews.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One year of experience and/or education related to child care child development social work nutrition counseling or adult education.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS

  • Driver qualifications are required for this position. Valid driver license insured vehicle available for use on the job and a satisfactory drive record for the previous three years are required
  • Successful registration in the Office of Child Cares Central Background Registry.
  • Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment.
  • Candidate must pass preemployment and random drug/alcohol screenings.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrated proficiencies in Microsoft Office (including Outlook) videoconferencing platforms and web tools.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of providers or employees of organizations.
  • Bilingual EnglishSpanish skills are required for this position.
    • To qualify as bilingual staff must pass a bilingual exam demonstrating fluent speaking reading and writing in English and Spanish. The posted hourly rate is inclusive of a 2% bilingual differential.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be allinclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

  • Conducts inhome monitoring reviews of the family child care providers on their caseload to ensure compliance with USDA Child Care Food Program (CCFP) regulations. This includes occasional evening and weekend hours.
  • Provides inhome nutrition education units to the family child care provider and children at each inhome monitoring review.
  • Assumes responsibility for all aspects of the inhome review. This includes review preparation travel conducting inhome signups and followup onsite training technical assistance and claims processing.
  • Maintains uptodate accurate neat records on all providers.
  • Reviews monthly meal claims to ensure participant compliance with program guidelines.
  • Provides training on nutritional standards and outreach at provider training classes and other events fairs etc. as requested.
  • Attends agency committee meetings as requested by Program Director.
  • Helps with day care questions and assists with completing applications.
  • Attends community child care orientations to present information on the USDA Child Care Food Program (CCFP).
  • Publicizes and promotes USDA CCFP on a regular basis.
  • Attends CCFP and other related employee training workshops and events as requested.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no supervisory duties in the position.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity for handling office equipment.
  • Frequent driving in all weather conditions throughout Marion Multnomah Clackamas and Washington counties.
  • Requires basic problem solving creative thinking and resourcefulness to accomplish tasks as directed by a supervisor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Indoor office work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.
  • Working with coworkers/clients over the phone and inperson.
  • Occasional noise and distractions in work spaces.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours including evenings and weekends to support provider schedules.
