DCHS manages a wide range of programs and services to assist the countys most vulnerable residents. The department maintains a proequity focus aimed at developing the systems and standards necessary to achieve better outcomes for all county residents.
The Children Youth and Young Adults Division (CYYAD) is one of five divisions in DCHS. CYYAD believes that King County should be a place where all young people have equitable opportunities to be happy healthy safe and thriving members of their communities. The division operates several reengagement education and employment programs for youth and young adults and is home to the Best Starts for Kids 5 to 24 investments the Puget Sound Taxpayer Accountability Acts K12 community and postsecondary investments and Restorative Community Pathways.
Best Starts for Kids (BSK) is King Countys initiative to improve the health and wellbeing of residents by investing in promotion prevention and early intervention for children youth families and communities ( Initially approved by voters in 2016 BSK was renewed in August 2021. Implementation of BSK is guided by the BSK Implementation Plan approved by the King County Council in September 2016 for Levyand approved by the King County Council in November 2021 for Levy 202227.
BSK and CYYAD are seeking two Contract Monitors (PPM II) to support the BSK Youth Development (YD) Positive Family Connections (PFC) 524 overall strategies and Technical Assistance (TA) & Capacity Building (CB) investments. These positions will work closely with BSK community partners consultants Contracts & Procurement and evaluation team members to ensure contracts are executed in a timely fashion evaluation plans are finalized ongoing work is executed and subsequent invoicing and reporting requirements are monitored appropriately. One of the Contract Monitors (PPM II) will support YD & PFC strategies and one will support TACB and 524 overall strategies.
This posting will be used to fill up to (2) SDA/TLT Contract Monitor (PPMII) positions.

WORK SCHEDULE/CONDITIONS: This is a Special Duty Assignment (SDA) or TermLimited Temporary (TLT) position anticipated to end 24 months after the start date but subject to change dependent on operational need. This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week Monday Friday 8am position meetsthe provisions of the Fair Labor StandardsActandis overtime eligible with supervisory preapproval. MISSION CRITICAL POSITION STATUS:This position has been designated NonMission Critical. Unless otherwise directed by the County Executive department director or agency head all employees regardless of designation are expected to report to work or request leave during an emergency or inclement weather. TELEWORKING REQUIREMENT:The work associated with this position will be performed or conducted through a combination of teleworking and onsite work and meetings. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
