Do you want to work on industryleading research in natural language processing deep learning and machine learning to make the AI revolution happen Join us as one of the founding members of this new Worldwide Stores Accessibility team and help drive accessibility innovations across the entire product lifecycle. Youll have the opportunity to elevate the academic work in Accessibility AI developing the science that defines industry standards.
Our customers bring challenging problems that will give you endless opportunities to see your research have a positive realworld impact. Youll partner with technology and business teams across our organization to solve these problems leveraging Amazons vast data and computational resources as well as collaborating with our worldclass engineers and developers. As part of the team youll be expected to develop innovative solutions to complex problems and publish your findings at peerreviewed conferences and workshops.

Key job responsibilities
As an Applied Scientist III youll be a recognized leader on the team known for your expertise in computer science. Youll invent novel solutions for complex ambiguous accessibility challenges framing new research problems and designing innovative interventions. When it comes to implementation youll heavily influence the architecture and write critical scientific code for productionready accessibility systems.
Beyond just executing youll be a key strategic voice autonomously driving discussions and building consensus with customers engineers and scientists. Youll proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks aligning crossfunctional teams around optimal accessibility solutions. And youll actively contribute to the broader scientific community publishing your work and serving in leadership roles.

About the team
The vision of the WW Stores Accessibility Team is to transform Amazons development culture so that delivering accessible experiences is the natural outcome of everything we do.
3 years of building machine learning models for business application experience
PhD or Masters degree and 6 years of applied research experience
Experience programming in Java C Python or related language
Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
Experience with modeling tools such as R scikitlearn Spark MLLib MxNet Tensorflow numpy scipy etc.
Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop Spark etc.

The base salary for this position ranges from $195900/year up to $327200/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
