Plastic Process Technician is responsible for setting up operating and troubleshooting plastic molding machines and processes to produce highquality plastic products. This role requires a strong understanding of plastic molding techniques machine operations ERP Systems and quality control procedures. The technician will collaborate with the production team to ensure that all processes run efficiently meet production schedules and adhere to safety and quality standards.
- Set up monitor and troubleshoot injection molding blow molding or other plastic manufacturing processes.
- Ensure machines are calibrated and maintained for optimal performance adjusting machine settings as required.
- Monitor production quality identifying defects and implementing corrective actions to meet quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on molding machines and related equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and work instructions to set up processes and molds accurately.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop process improvements and reduce waste.
- Record and maintain detailed production and quality logs including machine settings adjustments and maintenance activities.
- Train and mentor new process technicians or operators in machine operation safety practices and process optimization.
- Assist in the implementation of new molding technologies and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure that all ERP processes are executed accurately adhering to the established protocols for each transaction.
- Ensure adherence to safety environmental and company policies and regulations during all production activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the plastic molding process including equipment malfunctions material inconsistencies and production delays.
- Proven experience 1 year) as a Plastic Process Technician Machine Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of plastic molding processes (e.g. injection molding extrusion blow molding).
- Proficient in using measuring instruments such as calipers micrometers and gauges to ensure product quality.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and work instructions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools and machinery.
- Knowledge of quality control methods and statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Able to work on multiple levels (mezzanines ladders steps etc.....
- Able to work under extreme conditions (small space hot/cold wet noisy etc.....
- Strong math and problemsolving skills.
- Must have a working knowledge of Windows based systems as well as other PC/Control Equipment.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts (up to 12 hours) as determined by business needs.
