Job Description

Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and nbsp;Senior Business Analyst and nbsp;with expertise in and nbsp;business process analysis requirements gathering and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will have and nbsp;experience in Ontario Public Sector (OPS) projects a deep understanding of and nbsp;business and IT processes and strong analytical capabilities to support digital transformation initiatives.
This role is and nbsp;critical in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions and nbsp;by working closely with stakeholders IT teams and project managers. The successful candidate will excel in and nbsp;business process reengineering workflow automation and datadriven decisionmaking and nbsp;to drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
1. and nbsp;Business and amp; Requirements Analysis
  • Lead the and nbsp;elicitation analysis and documentation of business and functional requirements.
  • Develop core business analysis artifacts including:
  • Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
  • Functional Requirements Documents (FRD)
  • Process Models (BPMN UML Data Flow Diagrams Swimlane Diagrams etc.
  • Use Cases and amp; User Stories with welldefined acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze and nbsp;business challenges and recommend strategic technology solutions.

2. Stakeholder Engagement and amp; Communication
  • Act as the and nbsp;bridge between business units IT teams and external vendors.
  • Facilitate and nbsp;requirements workshops Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions and stakeholder interviews.
  • Collaborate with and nbsp;Product Owners Project Managers Developers and QA teams and nbsp;to ensure clarity in requirements.
  • Present findings reports and recommendations to and nbsp;executive leadership and senior stakeholders.

3. Business Process Optimization and amp; Digital Transformation
  • Conduct and nbsp;process analysis and workflow optimization and nbsp;to improve business efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for and nbsp;automation and digital transformation.
  • Lead and nbsp;business process reengineering initiatives ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support implementation of and nbsp;datadriven decisionmaking strategies and nbsp;using analytics.

4. Agile and amp; Project Support
  • Work within and nbsp;Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall project environments applying appropriate BA techniques.
  • Support Product Owners in and nbsp;backlog refinement prioritization and roadmap planning.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that business requirements are properly translated into and nbsp;technical specifications.

5. Business Readiness and amp; Change Management (Support Role Only)
  • Ensure that business stakeholders are prepared for new processes systems or automation initiatives.
  • Work closely with Product Owners and Project Managers to align business expectations and minimize resistance to change.
  • Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to support smooth transitions and longterm sustainability.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Required Skills and Experience
  • 7 years of experience and nbsp;as a and nbsp;Business Analyst and nbsp;in IT projects.
  • Ontario Public Sector (OPS) experience is preferred.
  • Strong expertise in and nbsp;business modeling (BPMN UML data flow diagrams process mapping etc..
  • Proficiency in BA tools:
  • JIRA Confluence Azure DevOps and nbsp;(for requirements and project tracking).
  • Visio Lucidchart MIRO and nbsp;(for process modeling and workflow documentation).
  • SharePoint MS Teams and nbsp;(for collaboration).
  • Experience in and nbsp;business process reengineering workflow optimization and automation.
  • Ability to and nbsp;work in Agile (Scrum Kanban) and Waterfall environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Certifications
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) and nbsp;or and nbsp;PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMIPBA).
  • Agile certifications and nbsp;(CSM CSPO SAFe) or and nbsp;Project Management certifications and nbsp;(PMP) are a plus.

3. Technical and amp; Tools Proficiency 15
Handson experience with and nbsp;business analysis tools including:
  • JIRA Confluence Azure DevOps and nbsp;(for requirements tracking and amp; project collaboration).
  • Visio Lucidchart MIRO and nbsp;(for process modeling and workflow visualization).
  • SharePoint MS Teams and nbsp;(for document management and amp; team collaboration). Familiarity with and nbsp;datadriven decisionmaking tools (Power BI SQL Advanced Excel) and nbsp;is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and nbsp;ERP CRM or Cloudbased business solutions and nbsp;is an asset.

4. Business Process Optimization and amp; Digital Transformation 20
  • Experience leading and nbsp;business process reengineering initiatives and nbsp;to improve efficiency.
  • Ability to identify and nbsp;automation opportunities and workflow enhancements.
  • Understanding of and nbsp;Agile (Scrum Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies and nbsp;to support IT teams.
  • Strong problemsolving skills with a focus on and nbsp;datadriven decisionmaking.

5. Public Sector (OPS) Experience 10
  • Prior experience working in and nbsp;Ontario Public Sector (OPS) or other government environments.
  • Familiarity with and nbsp;OPS governance frameworks (Stage Gate ITIL security policies etc..
  • Understanding of and nbsp;OPS procurement regulatory compliance and service delivery models.
