Job Description
DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled HiRail Technician with a great attitude strong ethics and morals and a vast mechanical aptitude with a keen sense of safety. This job is responsible for spraying herbicide to various railroads as well as maintaining truck and equipment needs.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
OPERATIONS:
- Oversee all jobs/contracts sent to work on.
- Spray complete weed grass and brush killer to various railroads.
- Do all daily routing and scheduling.
- Do all daily tank mixing.
- Calibrate all spray equipment.
- Mae sure all work is conducted in compliance with strict safety guidelines.
- Responsible for all daily/weekly record keeping.
SERVICE:
- Handle all contact with customers.
- Handle customer/public complaints.
- Report any potential liabilities immediately.
TECHNICAL:
- Full understanding of weed grass and brush types.
- Complete understanding of chemicals used what they control and all safety requirements.
- Full understanding of application methods and equipment.
- Full understanding of calibration and spray patterns.
Qualifications :
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- A valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A or B is required along with a minimum of 5 years of a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Willingness and ability to travel for assignments lasting up to 12 weeks at a time; hotel accommodations will be covered by the company.
- Basic math skills are necessary.
- General mechanical aptitude is preferred.
- Standard work hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Most workdays are approximately 10 hours but availability for 12hour days is occasionally required.
- Some weekend (Saturday or Sunday) and night shifts may be necessary based on project needs.
- Work hours may fluctuate due to weather conditions and workload demands.
- Spraying operations will be seasonal and aligned with the regional office schedule.
- Compliance with the companys drug and alcohol policy is mandatory.
DeAngelo Contracting Services provide our employees with paid training to help them become successful in their positions. Areas of training include:
- Learn how to identify different weeds grass and brush species.
- Determine what chemicals effectively control what plant species.
- Learn how to safely operate application equipment.
- Different application methods utilized in the field.
- An understanding of how to maintain equipment.
- Basic computer skills required.

Pay rate: $22.00/hour
