College Transition Coach

Wonderful Education is seeking a Transition Coach to serve as a high school to college coach for a caseload of high school seniors to support every step of their educational journey beginning in the spring of 11th grade through the first term of college. The ideal candidate brings a passion for and experience in education/youth development a tireless commitment to helping seniors and scholars achieve their goals no matter the barriers and the ability to contribute to a fastpaced team that works across the Central Valley. This position is currently open for one position located in Kern County.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain hightouch relationships with seniors and Scholars to be able to best support college & career goals of each student while in high school
• Provide holistic hightouch support for a caseload of seniors guiding them during the college application and decision processes toward their college and career goals
• Conduct regular interactions with seniors and Scholars based on student needs (including academic socioemotional financial etc.) to develop action plans that end in successful college and career transitions
• Develop robust knowledge of support services (academic mental health student life) and collaborate with College Success coach to support Scholars first college term
• Leverage data and Salesforce to maintain accurate information about each senior and Scholar for leadership updates and to be able to support all seniors and Scholars with fidelity
• Manage senior and Scholars Wonderful College Scholarship per term as needed
• Support program development and execution including college decision and transition events overnight college trips and summer camps

Qualifications :

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

• A commitment and passion for educational equity and justice and the desire to work tirelessly on behalf of students from Californias Central Valley.
• An eager flexible learner and problem solver who feels comfortable taking initiative.
• A selfstarter with exceptional work ethic and the ability to work well away from colleagues and management.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• An ability to quickly establish rapport and communicate well with scholars.
• A valid California drivers license required.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

• Bachelors degree required.

Pay Range: $26.93 $28.44. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
