Responsible for performing nutritional screens of inpatients to assess nutrition risk based on established criteria. Obtains food preferences of patients. Provides basic explanation to the patient of the nutrition plan regarding modified diets and potential drugfood interactions when applicable. Updates patient Cardex as necessary. Assures that patients receive correct meals/nourishments per diet order and directs cooks and diet aides in the correct preparation and delivery of patient meals. Confers with Dietitians cooks diet aides and other medical staff for food and nutrition continuity and to optimize nutritional care. Assists in training new employees and dietetic interns. Participates in committee staff meetings as assigned. Participates in the clinical/interdepartmental Quality Improvement. Completes monthend food service costs as assigned. Completes clerical and department inservices ordering of supplies as assigned by Director.

Additional Information :
Wage: Wage range currently starts at $20.49/hour and goes up to $32.95/hour. Actual wage will be based on years of applicable experience. This position may also eligible to receive additional compensation when working certain hours: Evening shift (3p 11p) $2.00/hour; night shift (11p 7a) $3.00/hour; weekends $3.00/hour.
FTE: .40 16 hours/week
