Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) seeking a Project Management Specialist in support of the St. Louis Site Integration and Delivery Center Operations for Manufacturing and Safety Air Dominance program located in Berkeley MO!
This role reports to the director and supports the business in executing daily operations and implementing organizational priorities. It involves a highlevel collaboration in developing and implementing strategies integrating initiatives and teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of priorities and key projects. Key position requirements include a thorough understanding of factory and production flight test operations strong organizational and effective communication skills business acumen strategic thinking astute project management and a passion for continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leads develops coordinates integrates analyzes and maintains integrated plans and schedules for complex projects programs and change driven activities in accordance with project management industry.
- Leads studies/analysis (trend variance impact) reports risk assessments and planning efforts to determine impacts constraints involving product development production rates process improvement program initiatives.
- Identifies risk and opportunity potential develops mitigation planning and refines the business case. Develops and establishes lead time requirements.
- Facilitates and ensures integration of project/program plan schedules change and baseline management processes techniques considered to be best practice across the industry.
- Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
- Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion.
- Coordinates commitments with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill strategies.
Additional Responsibilities to include:
Project Management:
- Assists in the execution of organization strategy and key initiatives through oobeya or other flowdown
- Manage key projects or initiatives as assigned and act as primary project lead establishing key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
- Coordinate crossfunctional teams track progress and provide regular updates
- Leads studies/analysis performs risk assessments to determine impacts or constraints involving product development production rates process improvement program initiatives.
- Coordinates commitments with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill strategies.
Operations:
- Aids in managing the organizations overall operating rhythm including oobeya meetings staff meetings strategic planning sessions and talent reviews
- Updates key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for the organization; works closely with Program and functional partners on metric updates and improvement
- Supports key meetings and initiatives may provide project tracking and recommendations for continuous improvement
- Draft and review correspondences presentations and reports in support of the Director
- Execute responsibilities ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
Planning:
- Aids the Director and staff in calendar management
- Plans prepares and supports key meetings
- Collaborates with the Director and the senior management team in developing and executing the organizations strategic priorities
- Conduct research analyze data and provide insights to support decisionmaking
- Identify best practices to support enhancement of priorities and initiatives
- Monitors progress communicates status and provides recommendations
- Aids in ensuring teams are meeting their commitments on priority execution
Stakeholder Engagement and Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including internal senior leaders and staff functional partners and customers; specifically AD M&S leadership and staff F15 & F/A18 Program leadership and staff and local DCMA staff
- As requested represent the Director in meetings or other engagements
- Collaborate with other organizations to ensure alignment and collaboration on key initiatives or events
- Support internal team meetings and employee involvement / engagement activities
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 4 years of experience in Project Management or related discipline
- 4 years of experience in a role utilizing business acumen and understanding of business processes and policies
- 4 years of detailed experience in aspects of the Boeing Production System including applications directly supporting the building of the product; experience in manufacturing engineering in a production environment is a plus
- 4 years of experience working on teams and projects that involve crossfunctional and/or crossbusiness interface and collaboration
- 4 years of experience collecting and analyzing data from multiple sources as well as interpreting data and presenting analysis and recommendations to management
- Experience researching and providing information developing and supporting executive presentations
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelors degree or higher
- Experience directly leading teams in a production or development environment
- Experience creating and developing plans or initiatives executing and managing projects
- Experience balancing multiple tasks concurrently and paying close attention to detail in a fastpaced work environment
