Job Description

The Stony Brook School a distinguished independent faithbased school is seeking a dynamic and dedicated fulltime 59th Grade English and History teacher to join the Global Extension of our school.

Primary Office Location: Remote

Start Date: August 11 2025

End Date: June 6 2026

  • Bachelors or masters degree in English History or Education.
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience including online instruction
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet grading and project deadlines
  • High energy strong work ethic and the ability to effectively engage with teenagers in an online environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to responding promptly to all communications.
  • Eagerness to serve in a faithbased learning environment that emphasizes faithful Christian scholarship and character formation
  • Proficiency with technology including the ability to navigate a learning management system (e.g. Canvas LMS) online educational tools and create screencasts/videos.
  • Reliable highspeed internet access.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a team of teachers with a focus on providing and receiving constructive feedback in a transparent growthoriented culture.
  • Ability to interact professionally with parents students and other community members.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity as our students come from diverse global backgrounds.
  • A demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
  • Maturity and stability to thrive in a demanding role.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide both synchronous and asynchronous instruction and support.
  • Grade student assignments and provide timely constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Gravitas curriculum
  • Serve as an advisor
  • Assist with occasional student activities

Salary and Benefits
