Job Description
A position has been declared open in the Weber School District for a Parttime Adult Custodian atHaven BayElementary This position is for3 hours per day 12 months per for this position are subject to change depending on individual school needs activities and employee needs but are generally from 3:00pm 6:00pm during the school year and will vary during the summer.

Purpose Statement and Job Overview:
The position of Parttime Custodian was created to assist with the cleaning of schools and other District facilities; providing assistance to teachers students and staff as directed by the Head Custodian or Assistant Head Custodian.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Necessary for Essential Functions:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must pass a background check by Utahs Bureau of Criminal Identification.
- Must be clean and neat in appearance and in personal habits.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs without difficulty.
- Must be able to clean assigned areas of the building.
- Must be able to wear and use a backpack vacuum this requires frequent twisting and bending.
- Must be loyal and able to keep confidences.
- Must be able to assist with grounds care and snow removal as assigned.
- Must agree to attend inperson district Parttime Custodial training course (NCOT).
- Must dress appropriately which includes school dress code plus proper foot wear such as closed toe shoes.
- Must use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves and safety glasses as required.
- May be assigned to secure the school building at the end of the working shift and accept responsibility for that assignment. This position is only in elementary schools without an Assistant Head Custodian and is referred to as Lead Parttime Custodian.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervision for this
- Supervision for this position will be provided primarily by the Head Custodian or Assistant Head Custodian. In the case of the Lead Parttime Custodian position minimal supervision will be required of that position such as collecting of other employees keys at the end of the shift ensuring that all occupants are clear from the building and the building is secure.
- The Lead Parttime Custodian position only exists in an elementary school without an Assistant Head Custodian and no supervision beyond what has been described above is expected of that employee.
- The Head Custodian or Assistant Head Custodian is responsible for ongoing training. Parttime custodians are not authorized or permitted to train other parttime custodians. All questions requests for time off or training requests should be referred to the Head or Assistant Head Custodian. The school Principal has supervision over all school employees.
