Job Description

Job Summary

We are inviting applicants to apply for a temporary job in Dr. Hangjun Kes lab within the department of Microbiology and Immunology at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Essential Functions

  • The Ke lab is dedicated to investigating Plasmodium falciparum malaria parasites for the purpose of developing new antimalarial therapeutics.
  • The temporary employee will have opportunities to learn CRISPR/Cas9 based gene editing techniques.
  • Perform PCR molecular cloning plasmid extractions (miniprep or maxiprep) and parasite cultivation.
  • Will work under the supervision of Dr. Ke and other senior members of the laboratory in a BSL2 setting.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelors Degree in life science related fields.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience

  • Typically sitting at a desk/table
  • Typically standing walking

Additional Information
This is a Temporary position classified as offered pay is based on the successful candidates qualifications and experience departmentbudget and an internal equity review.
