Company:
Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) Tooling & Emergent Operations Team has an exciting opportunityon theirteam in Berkeley MOfor a Tooling Mechanic.

Position Responsibilities:
- Program setup and machine parts on 3 and 5 axis mills lathes and live tooling lathes.
- Develop prepare and maintain all documentation related to the design fabrication and usage of various tooling items and their respective associated calibration equipment.
- Utilize manual equipment to fabricate or modify various tooling components.
(Examples: Bridgeport mill manual lathe surface grinder drill press etc.) - Other responsibilities may include: Equipment Maintenance & Calibration CNC machining WeldingComposites Modification Tooling Inspection Laser Tracking and much more
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3 years of experience working in a machining environment.
- High school graduate or GED
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 years experience with CAD/CAM Software (MasterCAM)
- 5 years of experience in programming & operating CNC machinery (Examples: 3 and 5 axis mills lathes live tooling lathes)
- Technical trade school certificate/degree (Or appropriate apprenticeship completion)
- Experience with Okuma Mazak SNK and Haas controllers
- Experience using inspection tools e.g. Micrometers Calipers Indicators Height Gauges Bore Gauges CMMs Laser Trackers Portable Arms Optical ComparatorsEtc.
- Experience with Aerospace parts fabrication
Additional Information
- The selected candidate must be able to work any shift as assigned.
- This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement.
- New Hires as well as employees who transfer from nonunion positions may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. All new employees rehires without seniority or transfers from outside of IAM 837 jurisdiction shall be regarded as probationary during their first one hundred twenty (120) calendar days of employment. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of any required training and the probationary period.
