Job Description

Overview

i3 is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Software Architect who will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Mission Command Product Offices Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Futures Capabilities (IFC) product cell.

The ideal candidate will be a key team member working on the forward edge of new concepts and new Systems of Systems Integration and will be responsible for evaluating and developing software approaches to integrate new and existing defense systems. This position is expected to be performed fully onsite in Huntsville AL.

Responsibilities

  • Lead problem identification and resolution for both system design and integration.
  • Investigate and present technology solutions to improve performance.
  • Assess customer and user needs following agile principles.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement of existing solutions.
  • Break down complex ideas into easytounderstand tasking.
  • Coordinate needs and priorities with Product and Solution Management.

Qualifications

  • Be fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset
  • Be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Have a Bachelors degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering the sciences or mathematics.
  • Have experience with realtime systems and diverse software development
  • Have experience with prototyping and integrating new software interface
  • Have a minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above.

Other Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in IBCS PATRIOT MEADS THAAD C2BMC or AEGIS. JIRA/ Confluence experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps technologies concepts SAFe agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Model Based System Engineering is a plus.
  • Prior Software Architectural/Engineering leadership experience desired.
  • The ability to make decisions; enthusiasm; independent critical thinking; and a team attitude are very important.
