The Department of Economic Security Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Cultural Competency Coordinator. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities and their families services and supports that are flexible high quality and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decisionmaking and engagement in the community.
This role serves to ensure the Division and its contractors have a comprehensive cultural competency program that is inclusive of those with limited English proficiency diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and disabilities.. This position will create processes related to cultural competency help to develop member and provider education materials and interpreter and translation services. Assist to develop the Divisions Cultural Competency Plan in collaboration with various function areas within the Division. The Plan will ensure crosscultural and linguistically competent and compliant practices in all functional areas including the delivery of services to members. On behalf of the manager may serve as a bridge between the Division and cultural communities resources members families providers community agencies and other stakeholders. Advocate on behalf of cultural communities within the Divisions systems of care (e.g. Qualified Vendors DDD Health Plans State Operated Services) and partner with agencies to support Division members.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Identifies and maintains vital documents in prevalent languages and that DDD offices and staff have access to them for distribution to members. Provides leadership mentoring coaching of staff and team members.
Works with OEO to identify and implement a reasonable modification when the request cannot be fulfilled at the division level. Reports information about implemented reasonable modifications to OEO and coordinates with OEO to complete the annual ADA Title II survey. Ensures quarterly audits of Language Vendors are complete.

May represent the Division during local and national Cultural Competency events. Attend PCSP and Ad hoc meetings as requested by Support Coordination. Divisions point of contact for ADArelated memberspecific issues. Assists employees and contractors with providing a reasonable modification for clients (no other employees) with a disability.
Knowledge Of:
Google Suite including Gmail Drive Docs Sheets and Hangouts.
Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Federal requirements related to Medicaid and Managed Care Organizations state laws rules and regulations related to the Division of Developmental Disabilities and AHCCCS. Cultural and linguistic competency principles and concepts.
Systems of care and wraparound philosophy and practice community based serveries and supports with an orientation to memberdriven guided and culturally relevant systems and services.
Skills In:
Establish Microsoft Office conflict resolution coaching cross cultural.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Analyzing complex problems and identifying and implementing solutions.
Ability To:
Demonstrate ability to work effectively with culturally diverse members staff contractors and stakeholders.
Flexible creative assertive and able to work in multiple task and multidisciplinary environment.
Analyze various data reports search evaluate and make decisions.
Provide leadership to groups and individuals. Plan organize and manage time effectively.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Experience in the field of diversity: health care settings and bilingual preferred.
Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the abovementioned process and the Agencys ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
